In the US, big data analytics company Zeta Interactive has acquired eBay's Enterprise CRM division, with which it will extend and enhance its people-based marketing platform. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Zeta, which was founded in 2007 by David A. Steinberg and John Sculley, former CEO of Apple Computer and Pepsi-Cola, recently closed a $125m round of investment funding, some of which has been used to acquire the eBay business. This business offers a data-driven marketing portfolio of products, an enterprise-grade ESP (email service provider), a data management product, and an automated attribution solution, which will all be integrated into Zeta's platform.
Regina Gray (pictured), Head of the eBay division, who will be joining Zeta as a Senior Vice President, says the buy is 'a great outcome for our clients and employees' and will take the division's capabilities 'to a new level'.
The acquisition follows the sale of other eBay Enterprise businesses to a consortium of private equity firms, led by Sterling Capital and Permira.
