Verisk Analytics, Inc. has announced the acquisition of The PCI Group, a consortium of five specialist companies offering data and subscriptions research in the chemicals, fibers, films, and plastics sectors. PCI will become part of Wood Mackenzie, which Verisk acquired earlier this year.
Edinburgh, Scotland-based Wood Mackenzie Ltd joined Verisk in May, with an impressive price tag of £1.85bn in cash.
Wood Mackenzie CEO Stephen Halliday (pictured) says PCI's proprietary chemicals industry data is complementary to his own firm's, and that bringing the two together will 'transform their combined client offerings'.
Philip Gibbs, MD of PCI Xylenes & Polyesters, comments: 'We're delighted to join Wood Mackenzie. PCI's detailed chemicals and product market knowledge, alongside Wood Mackenzie's extensive knowledge of the natural resources sector, will allow for greater quality, transparency, and granularity in our offerings to clients'.
