London-based boutique qual research agency Spinach has restructured, shedding four positions, and increasing its focus on qualitative research, with an emphasis on strategy and communications work.Angel, Islington-based Spinach was founded in 2002, and is led by Joint MDs Lucy Morris and Gary Cawker. In the past year, the team has reduced from a total of 21, to twelve plus freelancers. As a result of this restructure, Morris and Cawker will spend more time focusing on project work and servicing clients, which they say not been possible recently, because of the demands of running a larger team.
Commenting on the restructure, Morris said: 'To enable us to become more hands-on as researchers again, we have chosen to purposefully streamline our team to the optimum size. Our smaller team still has a healthy mix of experience and we all share a passion for qualitative research, which drives us to do the best work we can. Creativity remains in our DNA but we are refocusing the business to be primarily a boutique qualitative research agency, led by freshly engaged and highly experienced researchers'.
