UK-based data science firm Jaywing has acquired Australian search marketing agency Massive Group in a deal worth £9.25m (AUS $16m).Digital Massive, which also has an office in Brighton, UK, offers a range of services for digital strategy, search engine optimisation, multi-channel remarketing, and social media network and pay-per-click advertising. Jaywing has acquired 75% of the business for an initial AUS $2m, with a further $2m payable in instalments over the next two years; and as part of the deal, the company's two Directors Chris Pittham and Tom Geekie will remain employed in the business.
Jaywing already has a presence in Australia with its firm Epiphany Digital; which will be merged with Digital Massive's operations. Martin Boddy (pictured), CEO of Jaywing, said: 'Our acquisition of Epiphany in the UK in 2014 has proven to be a key driver of growth for Jaywing and we are now effectively seeking to play the same hand, but in a less developed market. Chris, Tom and their team are a great cultural fit and I'm absolutely delighted to welcome them to Jaywing.'
