In the US, performance analytics specialist SOASTA has added real user monitoring-based testing (RUM Testing) to its Digital Performance Management (DPM) Platform.
The firm's platform enables digital business owners to gain continuous performance insights into their user experience on mobile and web devices in real-time. To date, the firm has performed more than 100 million tests and measured, tested and optimized more than 300 billion user experiences.
Through its new RUM Testing feature, companies can collect and analyze user engagement data, and generate performance test plans based on actual user insights. The tool offers analysis of RUM data - such as user paths, user bounce rates, user think time, user geography, and web vs mobile device type - site owners can find out when previous peak traffic windows were, and which geographic locations users came from, while matching the previous year's peak and applying growth for year-over-year increases in traffic.
CEO and founder Tom Lounibos (pictured) comments: 'I'm proud to say that SOASTA has led revolutions in performance testing over the past ten years, starting with visual test creation, then with cloud-based grids for testing in production and at scale, to real-time analytics and dynamic ramp. Now we're doing it again with RUM-based Testing. SOASTA's data-centric DPM approach bridges the gap between testing and monitoring so that everyone can work together to manage and optimize their digital performance.'
