Omnicom-owned ad agency BBDO has appointed former MEC digital analytics head Sharona Sankar-King for the newly created role of Head of Marketing Science, based in its New York office.BBDO has 15,000 employees in 289 offices across 81 countries. Sankar-King (pictured) joins after more than two decades of strategy and analysis work for multi-channel marketing programs. Most recently, she worked for WPP-owned media agency MEC as North America Practice Lead, Digital & Advanced Analytics. Prior to this, she served as VP, Strategy and Analytics at Rapp Collins Worldwide, Group Director of Digital Analytics at Experian and AD, Advanced Analytics at Digitas. She began her career in analytical roles at Time Inc. and Foote, Cone & Belding.
In her new role, Sankar-King will work closely with Head of Data Solutions Tina Allan, while tapping the group's analytics division Annalect and its modelling group The Worth. BBDO's NY Chief Exec John Osborn says of the new arrival: 'In Sharona, we have an industry leader steeped in experience integrating data, analytics, media and measurement with the people part of the equation.
