In the UK, qualitative video research company Watch Me Think has appointed former Unilever exec Jenny Hearne as 'Head of Thinkers' Thoughts', while MRS co-Chair Danny Russell has been named as Chief Advisor.Launched in 2012 and with locations in the UK, Australia and the US, the company recruits participants to record their own and their families' experiences and opinions about brands on their smartphones, in their own homes. Hearne joins from Unilever, where she was Shopper Insights Manager, and previously Senior Trade Category Manager for Haircare. She began her career at IRI Infoscan, and then joined Alberto Culver as Category Insights Manager (prior to its acquisition by Unilever).
Russell currently serves as co-Chair of the Market Research Society (MRS), having previously been General Manager, Business Intelligence at Telefonica. Earlier, he held key research roles at Boots, Kraft, BA, BSkyB and Paddy Power.
Watch Me Think COO Alistair Vince comments: 'Being independent gives us the chance to adapt to our clients' needs and that agility is really appreciated by them. These two appointments are the first steps in our next phase of growth which has already seen major clients invest in our video platform and subscription products'.
