In London, independent agency Firefish has launched a specialist insight communications and activation agency called Insider, headed by John Sayers who previously led Firefilms, the firm's in-house insight film unit.Firefish, which also has offices in Amsterdam, New York and Singapore, launched as a qual agency in 2000 and added quant division TheNumbersLab a decade later. As well as the Firefilms division, the firm also owns a kids and family specialist, The Pineapple Lounge. The new division Insider will offer solutions for communicating, activating and embedding insight within the wider business through the creative use of film, events, digital, print and experiences. It is also using virtual reality as a tool for 'customer closeness and immersion'.
Sayers (pictured) co-founded Firefilms and has run it for more than a decade. Company owner and Group CEO Jem Fawcus comments: 'Our clients have already been benefitting from Insider's approaches for some time now, but we think it is time to open this business to brands and teams that may not have commissioned Firefish to complete the research itself. John's years of experience in both the creative and research industries, as well as developing award-winning methodologies, is a perfect mix and I am excited about the potential of this new business'.
