UK-based research and consulting firm Populus has appointed Hamish Asser to lead its Brand and Communications team, part of its Business and Consumer Insight division.
Founded in 2003 by former Tory party staff Michael Simmonds, Andrew Cooper (now known as Lord Cooper of Windrush) and Rick Nye, Populus is best known for its work in polling and political research, and was previously pollster for the Times newspaper. Asser (pictured) joins after nearly two years at Millward Brown Australia, where he served as Senior Account Director working across quant brand and comms research projects. Prior to this he worked for SPA Future Thinking, initially as Research Director, and latterly as developer and Head of the firm's brand equity tool BrandBox. Earlier, he worked at Ipsos ASI and Synovate (TRBI).
Business & Consumer Insight MD Gary Muncaster comments: 'We are extremely pleased to be adding such a highly skilled brand researcher to our fast growing business and consumer division. Hamish brings a wealth of experience in producing high impact brand insight using a wide array of innovative techniques'.
