Ipsos has appointed former TNS director Parijat Chakraborty as Head of its Public Affairs business in India. He will be based out of the Gurgaon office and will report to Amit Adarkar, CEO for India.
Chakraborty (pictured) joins with 22 years' market and social research industry experience. He spent the last ten at TNS, latterly as Executive Director and Business Head, managing P&L for multiple SBUs. Before this, he lead TNS' telecoms, technology and B2B verticals; and earlier in his career he worked at IDC, NFO-MBL and ORG-Marg (ACNielsen India).
Commenting on the appointment Adarkar said : 'We are the world's largest democracy and launching the Public Affairs business in India was always on the anvil. With Parijat Chakraborty coming on board, I am confident that the stature and size of Ipsos Public Affairs business will undergo a step change'.
