In Austria, marcoms giant Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired full-service media agency media.at, which provides consulting, research and data analysis relating to comms strategy, ad planning and buying, and ad verification. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Founded in 1974, Vienna-based media.at is led by CEO Andreas Knie (pictured) and works across both traditional media (newspaper, magazine, radio and television), digital, OOH (outdoor and transit), and other media for local and international clients. According to Dentsu Aegis, the acquisition is the second largest transaction of its kind in Austria, and will result in the Dentsu Group becoming the second largest ad group in the country.
Following the acquisition, the media.at company name will remain the same, as the Dentsu Group moves to deepen cooperative relationships with its digital agencies Isobar and iProspect, as well as Amplifi, which provides trading desk services.
