British big data firm Quantexa has opened an office in Sydney, Australia, following a launch in Brussels in April. The Sydney office will be led by advanced analytics specialist and former SAS exec Shaun Mathieson.Quantexa, which raised $3.3m in funding in March, has also doubled the size of its London headquarters, and plans an office in New York within the year. The Sydney office will allow more local service for clients in APAC, including many existing customers in the global financial sector.
Mathieson was Solutions Manager - Fraud, Financial Crime, Security Intelligence at software firm SAS from 2012 to early 2016, when he joined Gresham Tech as Director of Business Development, Asia Pacific. He worked earlier at BAE Systems in London.
Quantexa CEO Vishal Marria (pictured) says of the news: 'Being able to work closely with our clients and support them locally is essential. Extending our reach outside of Europe with the opening of the Sydney office starts to make this a practical reality'; while COO and Global Head of Product Imam Hoque says Australasia is 'a key forward thinking territory, with local institutions leading the way on technology adoption in AI, entity resolution and network analytics'.
