In New York, private equity firm Providence Equity Partners has acquired a majority stake in digital media measurement software and analytics specialist DoubleVerify (DV). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
DV offers software, data and analytics that verify the quality and effectiveness of digital ads. The DV Authentic Impression solution provides clients with a single KPI to ensure each ad impression is viewable, fraud-free and meets brand safety requirements. In addition, last year, the firm launched a suite of media authentication services called IQ Advanced Solutions, to increase the transparency and performance of video and display advertising across mobile and desktop platforms.
To accompany the investment, former Starcom MediaVest Group CEO Laura Desond has been appointed Lead Director on the DV Board, while DV's management team will remain in place. CEO and President Wayne Gattinella (pictured) says of the deal: 'Providence Equity has a demonstrated ability to partner with unique data companies to realize accelerated growth and customer adoption. With Providence's sector expertise and strategic insight, DoubleVerify is well positioned to capitalize on the outsized set of market opportunities and to launch new services that define the future of digital advertising engagement'.
