Video ad technology and targeting firm Tremor Video has hired former Nielsen exec Doug Campbell as Chief Strategy Officer.
Tremor's marketplace offers a spectrum of video ad products and services, including programmatic buying and selling, and analytics that connect the two. The firm's enterprise video analytics division VideoHub provides clients with a way to buy, verify and analyze the effectiveness of video ad campaigns - and was the first video ad platform to integrate with Nielsen's Online Campaign Ratings.
Campbell (pictured) joins from Nielsen, where he latterly served as SVP, Strategy and Corporate Development, driving growth organically and through mergers and acquisitions. Before this, he was Chief Operating Officer of audience targeting firm eXelate where he oversaw operations including sales, data science and the data exchange business. He led the sale of eXelate to Nielsen in 2015.
In his new role, Campbell is responsible for identifying, evaluating and implementing new opportunities, as well as for leading acquisitions, growth and strategy development across the business. He reports to CEO Mark Zagorski, who also recently joined from Nielsen, and comments: 'I am delighted to welcome Doug to the team. His success in creating value at his previous companies gives me confidence that he will play a similar role at Tremor Video, especially as the markets shift to OTT and CTV and we direct our energies and focus towards that dynamic future'.
