Former Jaguar Land Rover exec Ana Ramirez has joined insights consultancy Simpson Carpenter as International Head of Automotive Research, starting in early September.Founded by Tom Simpson and Derek Carpenter in 1998, the company works for automotive, retail and technology, media and telecoms clients. Ramirez (pictured) joins with more than 21 years spent in client-side automotive marketing roles. For the past five years, she has worked at Jaguar Land Rover, latterly as Senior Manager of Customer Insights with global research responsibility for the Jaguar brand. During her career, she also spent twelve years with General Motors Europe, in Switzerland and then Germany; and nearly five years with Vauxhall in the UK.
In her new role, Ramirez will lead the agency's automotive business, with a specific brief to expand its international presence. Simpson comments: 'Ana understands exactly what clients need from research and how they use it. Her experience of managing studies around the world and of working in different countries will help us expand internationally. She will also bring valuable specialist knowledge in areas such as new product development and car clinics, expanding the range of services we offer our clients'.
