In Chicago, WPP's content division Wavemaker has appointed Aaron Smith as Global Chief Client Officer. He will take up the role next Monday.Wavemaker was set up earlier this year by WPP media agency MEC, with the insight- and data-driven unit initially operating in ten markets across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Smith (pictured) joins from brand strategy and marketing consultancy Prophet, where he served as Senior Engagement Manager, prior to which he worked for brand consulting firm Envision as a Strategy Consultant, using consumer segmentations to drive brand strategy and marketing plans. Earlier, he spent four years at brand development firm the Sterling-Rice Group.
Commenting on the appointment, MEC and Wavemaker Global CEO Tim Castree, said: 'Aaron has over twenty years of experience in consulting to CMOs and brands. That makes him the perfect choice to head up a client leadership practice that delivers on our purpose to grow and transform our clients' brands through unique purchase journey insights and a deep understanding of their business needs'.
