US-based marketing tech firm Motista, which helps businesses activate 'emotional connections' to predict consumer behaviour, has appointed Michael Mathias as company President.
Motista was launched in 2007 by Alan Zorfas and Scott Magids, and uses a combination of cultural anthropology and mathematical modeling to determine the connections that most motivate consumers to act, with reference to specific brands. Using big data to tie emotions to behaviour, the company helps clients target and acquire more profitable customers, increase lifetime value, and position their brands. Mathias (pictured) joins from marketing services firm Target Data, where he was also President. Before this, he was MD of Thomson Reuters firm FindLaw; VP, Financial Services at enterprise data and analytics firm Acxiom; and EVP, Agency Services at Merkle.
In his new role, Mathias is tasked with building the company and scaling its go-to-market plan across industry sectors and channels. Magids comments: 'We are excited to welcome Michael to Motista, and to benefit from his considerable expertise in building and leading companies at the intersection of strategy, marketing and analytics. Our clients have seen tremendous results by activating our intelligence on emotional connections, and we are looking forward to making it available to many more companies across sectors'.
