Customer lifecycle marketing tech firm Zeta Global has acquired audience engagement platform Disqus, for an undisclosed sum.
Disqus provides tools for publishers to interact with readers, and boasts four million users web sites and two billion monthly users in total. Zeta says it will combine this platform with its own marketing platform, artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to provide personalized real-time marketing at scale. The acquisition is Zeta's eleventh, and adds to its portfolio which includes cross-channel marketing solutions business Impact and machine learning specialist Boomtrain, and follows a $140m Series F financing round, earlier in the year.
David Steinberg (pictured), Zeta Global CEO, Chairman and co-founder, comments: 'Marketers typically have to make trade-offs between reaching engaged audiences on social platforms with massive reach and using tools that give them control and access to granular targeting capabilities. Disqus strengthens Zeta's ability to offer the best of both worlds with the scale, visibility and performance marketers have been asking for'.
