Arbitron veteran Scott Musgrave has joined Nielsen Music as US Head of Radio Client Solutions, while Paul Shaver, Vice President and Head of Nielsen Music, takes on an expanded role leading the radio business in the Canadian market.Musgrave joins after a career which included seventeen years at Arbitron (now Nielsen Audio), including nine years as VP Sales and SVP General Manager. He latterly served as SVP/Client Software, in charge of developing tech for US Media Customers. He left in 2008 to join broadcast monitoring and verification service Media Monitors, and then worked for Bright Sky Holdings, Mediadash.com, Principle Broadcasting and Triton Digital, before setting up his own consultancy. In his new role, Musgrave manages sales for Nielsen BDS music solutions to broadcasters, satellite radio, music content companies, industry and government organizations, and data suppliers.
Shaver, who joined the firm last year, has more than 25 years' music industry experience, having previously served as VP of Radio Promotion at Virgin Records. He also held senior roles at HMV Canada, and EMI, where he was VP Marketing & Promotion until the firm's takeover by Universal, when he became VP Marketing for Universal Music. More recently, he was General Manager / SVP of Open Road Recordings and RGK Entertainment. In his new position, Shaver will oversee all commercial operations relating to the measurement and insights of music for Nielsen in Canada.
