NPD Moves Shipley to Senior Auto Aftermarket Role

Retail data provider The NPD Group has promoted Nathan Shipley to Executive Director of its US Automotive Aftermarket practice.

Nathan ShipleyThe division launched an analytics service in 2009, integrating multiple data sources including store-level point-of-sale data to address business issues such as sales force allocation, product mix and price. Shipley (pictured) re-joined the business a year later as Director of Client Development. He began his career in the unit as an Account Manager, before leaving to join Nielsen where he worked as Relationship Manager, tasked with identifying marketplace trends using retail measurement, consumer panels and other analytical approaches.

He is promoted from Director/Industry Analyst, in which role he served as the firm's automotive aftermarket spokesperson, providing insights on key trends and future growth opportunities. Dawn Zieren, President of the practice, comments: 'Nathan has built an extensive knowledge of the automotive aftermarket through his years of experience, personal passion, and deep-rooted client relationships he has fostered.
