In Philadelphia, former Kantar procurement specialist Rich Silva has launched a consultancy focused on helping companies achieve better value within the market research operations category, including data collection.
Silva (pictured) worked in global roles as VP Procurement at Lightspeed, and then as Category Manager for parent company Kantar. His new firm, RSilva Consulting, promises to help clients around the world develop their tactics and strategies. Services range from the basics of scoping requirements and suppliers, to negotiating deals and contracts, to advanced projects such as designing and implementing processes and comprehensive strategies. He has particular expertise in online data collection.
Silva says the consistent use of procurement best practices and the benefit of twenty years of experience helped him to help Lightspeed and Kantar save 'many millions of dollars in practical, effective, and sometimes unexpected ways'. He adds: 'So much value is often left on the table, for a simple reason: many decision-makers just don't have the time or perhaps even expertise to secure it. This can make the difference between success and failure with clients, jobs, suppliers, and general financial health'.
