In the UK, social and consumer trend forecasting specialist Trajectory has promoted Tom Johnson to the role of Managing Director, after eight years with the business.Headquartered in London, Trajectory was launched in 2008 by former Opinion Leader MD Paul Flatters, Future Foundation co-founder Michael Willmott, and former Henley Centre MD Chris Farmelo, to apply the full range of qual and quant methods to social analysis and forecasting. In 2010, the firm acquired the GLIMPSES trends database from research, consultation and communication charity The Tomorrow Network.
Johnson (pictured) joined in 2010 as an Analyst, having previously worked for the company on a freelance basis. He was promoted to the role of Director in 2015 and has since managed the firm's monthly programme of Trends Breakfasts, its proprietary Global Foresight trends monitor. He is also part of the team working on Trajectory's pan-European Time Use study, having run the Geography of Time study in 2011.
Commenting on the news, Flatters said: 'Tom's promotion is deserved recognition for the increasing role he has played in the running of the business since his appointment as a director two years ago. I would like to thank him for his exceptional work and dedication to the business in this time. Even more importantly, we are both excited by future opportunities and new service offerings that we will be launching later in 2018'.
