IT consultancy and business process services company Wipro has acquired a $9.9m minority stake in US marketing solutions firm Harte Hanks.
Harte Hanks has more than 5,000 employees located in North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe, and provides end-to-end marketing services including consulting, analytics, and implementation via digital media, print / direct mail and contact centers. In partnership with Wipro over the last year, it has upgraded its analytics and apps platform and simplified other IT processes. In addition, the two companies jointly market Opera Solutions' Signal Hub big data analytics platform, which uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to generate behavioral insights.
With the new investment the partnership will expand, offering more help for marketers in targeting and engaging their customers. Karen Puckett (pictured), Harte Hanks CEO, comments: 'Enterprises and brands are working hard to better understand their customer's buying journey and are deploying technology to help them interact with customers in relevant, meaningful ways. However, CMOs are increasingly concerned about marketing's capability to acquire and manage technology effectively. This partnership squarely addresses those opportunities'.
