In Texas, geopolitical intelligence platform Stratfor has appointed Chip Harmon as President and Gemma Postlethwaite as Chairman - both roles previously held by Dave Sikora, who will remain as an advisor to the company. The firm combines 'a deep understanding of history, politics and geography' with a proprietary 'geopolitical methodology' to provide clients with 'informed perspectives on today's events' and their future implications for business.
Harmon has been the company's Chief Sales and Business Development Officer since March 2017 and led the creation of its Worldview for Enterprises resource, which launched in October. He also helped grow its 'Threat Lens' list of enterprise clients seeking to identify and mitigate threats to their people, assets and interests around the world. He brings 28 years of leadership, sales management and business development expertise to the role, and prior to joining Stratfor was VP of Global Sales for Patent Search software developer Innography.
Former Thomson Reuters and Infogroup exec Postlethwaite most recently spent three years as CEO of New York-based market analysis firm PIRA Energy Group, leading it through acquisition by S&P Global Platts in 2016.
Sikora has led the company for around two years, a time of 'strategic and product transformation', and says it is 'now time to shift gears toward growth and optimization'. He comments: 'Chip's strategic vision and extensive experience in the enterprise marketplace are precisely what's needed now to fuel the next phase of Stratfor's advancement. I can think of no one better suited to lead the company forward at this exciting time'.
