In the US, audience measurement firm Tru Optik has appointed Frans Vermeulen in the new role of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for growing revenue and for global expansion.
Tru Optik partners with companies including Experian Marketing Services and Kantar Millward Brown to gather and analyse data on viewers of OTT services. It also offers a suite of solutions called the OTT Marketing Cloud to help advertisers and publishers target and address audiences.
Vermeulen (pictured) joins with twenty years' experience in TV, digital, mobile and programmatic ad marketplaces, SaaS sales strategy, and corporate development. Most recently, he was VP of Advanced Strategy and Operations at Comcast, where he focused on global advertising strategy, related technologies, partnerships/corporate development and acquisitions, while driving strategy for the Comcast Platform Services group. Before this he was SVP of Global Solutions and Corporate Development at FreeWheel, prior to the company's acquisition by Comcast in 2014. He also held management positions at aCerno (acquired by Akamai), Cendant, and DoubleClick (acquired by Google).
In his new role, Vermeulen will lead Tru Optik's business operations and implement a recruitment strategy to expand the teams domestically and abroad. His wealth of experience across both digital media and linear TV make him uniquely qualified to help navigate Tru Optik's continued ascendance as the de facto standard for OTT audience intelligence and data management'.
