UK regional marcoms agency Union Group has set up a company called Union Data, based in Edinburgh. The new firm will focus on more effective use of marketing data, as well as technical data solutions, and will be led by former Union Direct Head of Data Strategy Daniel Batey.Union Group has offices in Leeds and Edinburgh and offers a range of advertising, brand consultancy, design and research solutions. Union Data's portfolio of services includes data analytics, segmentation, predictive modelling, data management and customer journey design, along with support for GDPR compliance. The agency will partner with Paragon Customer Communications in London for some data services, while employing its own team of analysts in Edinburgh.
Batey (pictured) joined the Group in 2010 from International Masters Publishers, where he served as Global Head of Data Planning, having previously been Customer Analytics Manager at CACI. Commenting on the launch, Chairman Ian McAteer said: 'Daniel has already demonstrated his technical ability and skill in the data field, and therefore it was an easy decision to back him in this new venture. We think there's a big gap in the market for what Union Data delivers, we increasingly see a demand from our clients for support and help in this area. Many clients find the regulation and technical requirements overwhelming, and that's where Daniel and his team come into their own'.
