Former dunnhumby Exec Named TruRating CDO

In London, online point-of-payment customer feedback specialist TruRating has hired long-time dunnhumby exec Gareth Johns as Chief Data Officer.

TruRating offers a platform through which paying customers can provide feedback about retailers and restaurants. Everyone who uses the payment terminal to pay is asked for a rating of one of five factors - service, value, product, experience and likelihood to recommend - and merchants are given the feedback in real-time, so they can assess service levels and make adjustments and improvements. Feedback is also available to consumers online, to enable them to compare ratings when choosing where to shop and eat.

Johns (pictured) joins after serving as Chief Data Officer at data science company Starcount Insights, which is led by Edwina Dunn and Clive Humby, the founders of Tesco Clubcard insights firm dunnhumby. Before this, he spent more than nineteen years at dunnhumby, latterly as Global Capability MD, Insight and earlier in roles that included Global Head of Data, Global Head of Product Development and Managing Director of Platforms and Innovation.
