US personalized video content creation platform VidMob has raised $6.4m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to expand its Data Insights and Engineering teams and to open an office in London.VidMob, which already has four offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Massachusetts, provides technology solutions that enable a network of 'creators' to develop marketing communications that are insight-driven and personalized. The firm says this latest round of capital will help provide marketers with real-time insights into what drives creative asset performance.
New funding comes from new investor brandtech group You & Mr. Jones, founded and led by David Jones, former Global CEO of Havas. Existing VidMob investors also invested in this round, led by Manifest Growth, Interlock Partners, Acadia Woods and Macanta Investments, bringing the total raised to date to more than $20m.
As part of the funding, VidMob has hired former Google executive James Bacon (pictured) as UK Sales Director, based in the new London office. Founder and CEO Alex Collmer stated: 'We have always said that our mission was to create a million jobs, and we hope the technology solutions we're building today will empower our community of expert creators to produce even more inspired content, driven by creative insights'.
