ANTERIO, the healthcare MR subsidiary of Japanese researcher INTAGE Group, has acquired the Japan-based operations of Junicon, a competitor with a focus on the medical device and healthcare technology markets.Junicon provides research-based consulting through a broad portfolio of services for healthcare clients. The services of its Japan-based subsidiary Junicon K.K. will be used to expand ANTERIO's expertise in medical device and market access research in Japan. Junicon will also work collaboratively with ANTERIO through the latter's healthcare-specialised fieldwork subsidiary PLAMED Asia.
Michael LoPresti (pictured), Junicon's Representative Director in Japan, will continue to be involved in the operations of the acquired company. He previously worked for the INTAGE Group between 2005 and 2010, having begun his career as an SRE at Infoplan (now Kantar) and run his own research firm, Goddard Health, in Tokyo. LoPresti comments: 'I am very excited to be able to work closely with my colleagues at Junicon and ANTERIO to expand our medical device and market access research offering in Japan and other parts of Asia. Our aim is to successfully harness Junicon's healthcare technology research expertise and the large regional capabilities of ANTERIO and the broader INTAGE Group in Asia'.
