Oxford, UK-based sensory and consumer insight specialist MMR Research Worldwide has opened an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which will be led by Research Directors Ana Maria Almeida and Carlos Chiba (known as Cadu).
MMR works with clients in food, drink and personal care, and as well as the UK has offices in South Africa, the USA, China and India; plus Sensory Science Centres in Shanghai, Singapore and New York. Last week, the firm acquired creative video and visual design agency Ideal Insight, as it looks to strengthen its research delivery and storytelling capability.
At the new office in Brazil, Almeida joins from food conglomerate BRF where she worked for nearly eight years, latterly as Global Manager - Consumer Insights. Prior to this, she was Manager, Qual Market Research at Ipsos; Consumer Insight Coordinator at Unilever; and Market Research Analyst at Kantar Millward Brown. Chiba also joins from BRF, where he was Consumer Insights Manager for nearly two years; having previously worked for BrainJuicer (now called System1 Research) as Client Director; brewing company AmBev as Market Research Manager; and retailer Grupo Pão de Açúcar as Market Research Coordinator.
MMR says the expansion adds a key Latin American location from where it will provide bespoke service to clients in South and Central America. Global MD Mat Lintern comments: 'We're really excited about the launch of our Brazil office. We're especially lucky to have two highly ambitious, intelligent and adaptable people to set-up and grow the operation. They'll be shaping a proposition that works for the local market, blending our higher-end sensory branding solutions, with our rapidly expanding agile toolkit'.
