Local audience data specialist Eyeota has appointed Pieter de Zwart as Chief Technology Officer, leading the company's technology strategy and the development of its global audience platform. He replaces Christofer Sandberg, who left in March.Eyeota offers access to '3.5 billion unique profiles' of consumers in Europe, APAC and the Americas, based on third party audience data. At the beginning of the year, the firm raised $12.5m in a Series B round of funding, part of which is being used to support product development and expand its team.
de Zwart joins with more than a decade of ad tech engineering and management experience and a track record of developing scalable systems and processes. Most recently, he spent nine years at online ad technology firm Rubicon Project, which he helped to build from a 100-person start-up to a publicly-traded company. He held several roles, most recently VP of Engineering, leading the company's header bidding and video initiatives. He also founded Prebid.org, an organization designed to ensure and promote fair, transparent and efficient header bidding across the industry.
In his new role, de Zwart replaces Sandberg, who now works for Prudential in Singapore as VP IT/Head Web and Mobile Platforms. Kevin Tan, Eyeota CEO, comments: 'Pieter's experience building teams and infrastructure across distributed markets in a growth stage company enables us to scale at greater velocity. His knowledge of the rapid evolving industry and deep relationships among tech leaders in the community allow us to better target the development of our audience platform for clients and partners in the US and across our global markets'.
