Ipsos has hired long-time Kantar IMRB exec Vivek Gupta to lead its Mumbai business as Managing Director. He reports to Amit Adarkar, CEO of Ipsos India.
Gupta (pictured) joins with more than two and a half decades of experience across the industry. He spent the past 22 years at IMRB, latterly as Chief Sales Officer & Senior Executive Director, having joined in 1996 as Research Director. Prior to this, he worked at TNS, MODE, DDB Mudra Communications, and O&M.
In his new role, Gupta will focus on managing and growing Mumbai-based client relationships, while being involved in strategy formulation and implementation for other geographies. Commenting on the appointment, Adarkar said: 'Donning an archetypical business head's hat, Gupta will be aggressively going after lucrative, new accounts and servicing existing large accounts with attentiveness and detailing, underscoring Ipsos' glocal strategy of providing global know how and backing with local depth of knowledge and sectoral experience. Gupta has a huge task cut out for the Mumbai market'.
