Employee research specialists Sam Dawson and Rob Browton have launched a business called feedback.works, to help clients turn feedback into growth opportunities. Their first product is an employee survey tool called oursurvey.works, designed for small and medium-sized businesses.
Dawson, who is also the founder of The Engaged Culture Company, has a twenty year background in the employee engagement space in the UK and Australia. He initially spent eight years as a Senior Consultant in ORC International's Employee Research Division, before joining the Hay Group , where he became Director & Head of Insight Business UK in the Korn Ferry division. Browton is co-founder and UK MD of workforce intelligence and survey diagnostic specialist Blue Provident, having previously served as Senior Consultant at the Hay Group, where he worked with clients on engagement strategy development, survey programme design and delivery, and post-engagement survey change processes.
The new venture aims to offer feedback processes in the workplace and identify areas for potential innovation and involvement, while keeping people engaged. The team's first product oursurvey.works features a pre-designed questionnaire and survey process, intended to help small to medium-sized business focus on improving productivity and growth - in particular those companies that have run an employee survey and are struggling with improvement actions. According to Dawson, the tool is 'revolutionary' as it focuses not on the questionnaire or the logistics of running a survey (that's all pre-designed), but on 'easy to run' improvement processes that deliver business impact, namely growth and productivity. The tool also offers virtual training modules to help anyone get the best from feedback programmes, from teams to individual employees.
Browton comments: 'Small business has enough challenges - managing people, product, sales operations, cashflow, growth, profit. These types of companies have enough to do without running an employee survey that raises more questions than it answers. We take the pain out of the survey process and deliver results that businesses can actually use to improve productivity and growth'.
