Experian's Ascend Begins EMEA Roll-Out with UK Launch

August 20 2018

Data giant Experian has launched its new integrated analytics solution, Ascend Analytics on Demand, in the UK, following a successful introduction in North America.

Tom BlacksellThe tool, built on open-source technology, allows clients to access a full range of the company's anonymised trended data, with results in real time in a range of formats. Users can build their own predictive models to develop business strategies, including machine learning and AI techniques. The solution, planned for roll-out across the rest of EMEA in the autumn, is part of a suite of Experian tools aimed at helping UK businesses 'to harness the full potential of big data'.

The firm's UK MD of B2B Tom Blacksell (pictured) comments: 'Businesses must be able to call upon and understand a range of data assets to compete in today's economy. Ascend brings the very latest in analytical innovation to help them turn vast quantities of data into actionable insights'.

Experian's own research suggests that only one in three businesses currently use advanced analytics techniques and technologies to develop a deeper, more meaningful understanding of their data, and two in five 'still rely on instinct and subjective opinion' to make decisions; however, 78% of organisations have made investments in advanced analytics, while 71% plan to enhance analytics capabilities in the next 12 months. The project was conducted among 590 C-level professionals (26%) and functional leaders (74%) in Europe, the Middle East, Russia and South Africa.

Experian, listed on the LSE and part of the FTSE 100 Index, employs 16,500 people across 39 countries and is online at www.experianplc.com .
