US consumer health software company Welltok has launched a big data and predictive analytics tool called DataWise, which taps into the firm's database of 275 million Americans and more than 800 predictive variables to create a 'holistic view' of consumers.Welltok uses machine learning to enable health plans, employers, providers and public entities to connect consumers to personalized health improvement resources. With the new DataWise solution, companies can tap into individual preferences, behavior and motivations to develop communications strategies; while analyzing the health status of a population through clinical interventions, gap-in-care closures and program design. Additionally, the tool uses performance data, treatment patterns and regional benchmarks to identify and respond to risks and opportunities, and define best practices.
Phil Fiero (pictured), SVP of Analytics and Advanced Technologies, comments: 'We are excited to help more organizations move from basic segmentation at the population level to identifying health needs, risks and target actions at the individual level'.
