OzTAM Hires Nielsen's Vasile for New Director Role

Australian television audience measurement body OzTAM has hired former Nielsen executive Adrian Bogdan Vasile for a newly created position, Projects Director. He will take up the post in early November.

OzTAM is the country's official source of TV audience measurement covering the five metropolitan markets (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth), plus subscription television nationwide. In the summer, OzTAM and Nielsen announced plans for an integrated database combining broadcast viewing on TV sets and connected devices, supporting advanced audience targeting and known as Virtual Australia ('VOZ').

Vasile (pictured) will join from Nielsen, where he his latest role as Director of Product Leadership includes the Readership Works' cross-platform audience insights and readership survey emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia) and the company's Consumer & Media View products. Before this, he was Director of Product Leadership for Nielsen Media Impact, a platform which combines all media audience currencies. Earlier, he held senior roles with the Australian Marketing Institute, having begun his career at Zenith Media, before moving to Starcom MediaVest Group. He has also held senior roles with Reader's Digest, outdoor media group Epamedia, and the Tarsago Media Group.

In his new role, Vasile will oversee the execution of project plans and manage timelines as OzTAM brings new products and initiatives to market. He will report to CEO Doug Peiffer, who comments: 'With our team heavily focused on product development, we need an executive wholly dedicated to client relations, to keep OzTAM subscribers fully across and engaged in our efforts to measure and report the myriad new ways of viewing content. Adrian's extensive and varied experience in audience measurement and media planning - spanning product development, project management, marketing and customer service - make him ideally qualified for this new client-facing role'.
