In the UK, former Incite execs Ali Barnes, Alison Ratcliff and Philippa Mendoza have launched a full-service qual/quant agency called Weave Research, serving both B2B and B2C sectors.Barnes began her career at NOP, before joining BUPA as Corporate Research Manager and then holding senior roles at Research International, Kantar Millward Brown and Ipsos, and most recently serving as Principal at Incite. Ratcliff has spent the last five years as a Director at Incite, having begun her career at Millward Brown, where she worked for more than two decades; and Mendoza was an Associate at Incite, having previously worked for ABA Market Research as Research Manager.
Operating a virtual office model, Weave will focus on FMCG, retail, travel and leisure, consumer health and third sector clients. Barnes says the work she has done with global clients in markets as diverse as Nigeria, Nepal, Brazil and Russia over the past few years has convinced her that Weave's 'straightforward, transparent, focused approach' is the right one for today's clients.
Mendoza adds: 'New ways of working, new regulations and new information resources are affecting all business sectors and research is no exception. Our clients are working in a world of increased openness, increased collaboration and supply chain value-discovery. Research and insight must adapt - and Weave is adopting these principles'.
