UK Launch for YouGov Ratings Popularity Measure

November 7 2018

YouGov has launched its popularity assessment tool YouGov Ratings in the UK, promising marketers data on 'anything and everything' - from politicians to sports stars, and from musicians to phone providers.

Stephan ShakespeareThe service collected responses from the British public between May and October, and uses the data to determine the nationally representative popularity score for thousands of things including brands, companies, products and people. Claiming to be the first 'freely available, robust, and searchable data for marketers showing the popularity and fame of everything', the solution covers more than 8,000 topics. It also shows comparisons between the fans of one thing and fans of another, enabling marketers to match brands and public figures that complement each other.

Ratings data has also been added to the firm's media planning and audience segmentation tool YouGov Profiles, to provide marketers with a more detailed look at different consumer groups. Co-founder and CEO Stephan Shakespeare (pictured) comments: 'YouGov Ratings brings together our highly engaged panel, our unrivalled connected data, and our aim to become the go-to destination to find out what the world thinks. It adds yet another dynamic to the way in which we can bring marketers closer to their consumers - by understanding target audiences through their perception of fame and popularity of anything and everything'.
