In the US, sports intelligence specialist STATS has hired long-time Thomson Reuters exec Derk Osenberg as Director of Sales.STATS combines its data platform with video analysis, sports content and research, player tracking through STATS SportVU, and a range of customizable digital solutions. In June, the firm expanded to Europe with the opening of an office in Limerick, Ireland, and with plans to hire more than 150 full and part-time staff by 2020.
Osenberg (pictured) joins in Chicago with 25 years' sales and leadership experience. For the past seventeen, he worked for news and information-based tools provider Thomson Reuters, latterly as Head of Sales, Americas - Research Data Services, responsible for growing the $250m Quant and Feeds business. In this role, he built and led national sales teams that sold customized solutions of data, analytics, SaaS and PaaS into the quant finance and FinTech spaces. Prior to this, he worked for ALG Software as National Sales Manager - Financial Services Vertical Market; and for Zacks Investment Research as Division Manager - Investor Relations & Corporate Sales.
