Influencer marketing platform Whalar has hired Ian Forrester, the former Global SVP, Insight and Solutions at video ad distribution and tracking platform Unruly. He joins as Senior Vice President, Research and Analytics working from Shoreditch, London.
Whalar's technology provides an operating model for producing creative work, accessing engaged audiences and gaining diverse consumer insights. Forrester (pictured) joins after more than six years at Unruly, initially as Global Insight Lead and more recently as Global SVP, Insight. In the latter position he led the Insight and Solutions team to provide analysis of online video, enabling them to create content and deliver better targeting and higher campaign ROI at scale. Prior to this, he worked for Sony Pictures Entertainment as Senior Business Insight & Planning Manager, Europe; Tate & Lyle as a Category Manager; and Nestle as Customer Insight Executive.
Commenting on his appointment, Forrester said: 'I've taken the job because there is so much opportunity in this space. None of the big questions, such as 'what makes great influencer content?', 'how do I select the best influencer for my campaign?' or 'what's the reach of my influencer campaign have been properly answered and I find the challenge of having a big problem to solve and a blank piece of paper massively exciting'.
