Video distribution service DIRECTV has appointed former Sports Authority and T-Mobile researcher Leslie Willis as Senior Lead, Consumer Insights.
California-based DIRECTV distributes video from multiple channels, linear and streaming. AT&T, its owner / majority owner since 2015, announced in September that it will shortly sell it 70% stake in the company to current minority owner TPG Inc. In January this year DIRECTV inked a deal with data collaboration platform InfoSum.
Willis' role as a contractor for the company since June has been made permanent this month. Her recent experience includes eighteen months as Lead, Global Player Insights at video games company Pixel United, and a year in a similar research Lead role at Panasonic North America; earlier she spent two years as a Senior Marketing manager at T-Mobile, and worked at Medallia and Channel 9's KUSA-TV. Between 2011 and 2015 she worked in consumer insights for sporting goods retailer The Sports Authority, in Colorado. She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Memphis.
