German Expansion for SAMY

Madrid-based social media management and marketing firm SAMY Alliance has moved into the DACH region with the acquisition of Intermate, a German social media and influencer marketing agency.

SAMY already has more than 600 employees in fifteen countries, and combines proprietary software and advanced analytics tools to assist clients working in the social media and influencer space. In January the firm bought US-based influencer marketing and data-driven content creation company ContentLab, and sold a majority stake a month later to London-based private investor Bridgepoint. The investment has allowed it to make the Intermate acquisition, which adds another 200 staff and which it says will 'solidify its position as the leading independent social-first marketing group.'

Intermate was founded in 2015 and provides end-to-end social media marketing, using proprietary technology and a platform focused on maximum brand reach and data / insights. The firm has some 250 employees across Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne, and generates nearly 100% of its revenue in Germany. With its founders and management team staying in place, the buy will allow it to roll out its methods across markets in Europe and the Americas.

SAMY says the acquisition also strengthens its position in complementary verticals including healthcare, retail and e-commerce; further enhances its capabilities in paid social, content production and data-driven consulting; and will help it to scale its services across platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
