Lionfish Unveils Competitor Intell Platform for Cybersecurity

April 28 2025

In Shelton, CT, technology consultant Lionfish Tech Advisors has launched a competitive insights and market intelligence platform, focused on cybersecurity and called the Aquarium.

The AquariumThe new platform integrates LLMs with the company's advisory expertise, which is used to verify the work of the AI. All Lionfish's consultants are former Gartner Analysts, and their knowledge covers such areas as Extended Detection and Response (XDR), cloud security, threat exposure management and infrastructure & operations.

Aquarium promises to help clients understand market dynamics and competitor strategies, in context, in real time for a fast-moving business environment. The platform serves as a competitive intelligence assistant for functions including sales, marketing, product management and executive teams. Specific tools include Sonar Score, which provides an interactive, in-depth analysis covering over 50 criteria to construct a comprehensive SWOT profile for selected products, markets and competitors; Market Dashboard, a dynamic graphical display illustrating vendor and relative product success and traction against other vendors; and Battle Cards - for sales and other use - which can be customised for individual buyer personas and market conditions and are automatically updated to reflect the latest trends.

Lionfish CEO Rob Smith says the Aquarium 'isn't just about getting competitive intelligence: it's about having it when you need it, exactly how you need it.' He adds: 'What used to take weeks for a dedicated CI team to generate can now be created in seconds, providing our clients with validated data that gives them a significant competitive edge.'
