Biotech Research Appointment

Biotechnology company WellGen, Inc. has appointed Dr. Julie B. Hirsch, Ph.D., as Director of Product Development. Her duties include market research for the company's plant-based products that treat and prevent disease, known as 'nutrigenomics'.

Dr. Hirsch has more than 10 years of experience in product development, market research and business development within the food industry, and previously founded Fourscore & five, a research and strategy company for the health and wellness products of major food and ingredient companies.

Earlier in her career she spent six years as a product development scientist on products including Gorton's Grilled Fillet products, and Slim Fast shakes. She is an adjunct faculty member of the department of Food Science at Rutgers University, with a Ph.D. in Food Science from Rutgers and a B.S. from Cornell.
