UK agency Opinion Research Business (ORB) has appointed Johnny Heald as MD, taking over from his father, Gordon, who will assume the role of Chairman.
Johnny Heald has worked in the research industry since 1992, including spells at Research International and Wirthlin. He has been a Director of ORB since 1998. He specialises in international, consumer and socio/political research. Since joining ORB, his clients have included KPMG, the Strategic Rail Authority, Disability Rights Commission, local government and Sport England. During the 2005 general election campaign, he directed the Conservative party's private polling.
Gordon Heald founded ORB in 1994 and in the same year became Chairman and founder of Russian Research. He had previously been MD of Gallup Poll between 1980 and 1994. His clients form a catalogue of political leaders of the last two generations, including Margaret Thatcher, President Reagan, President Yeltsin and seven other heads of state.
