The Interpublic Group has appointed Bant Breen, 35, currently its Director of Strategic Development and Innovation, as President of The Futures Marketing Group.
The Group was created in Interpublic's new media alignment announced in late 2006, to drive groundbreaking media and marketing services and business models to support the parent company's agencies. It includes the Emerging Media Lab, a center for marketing innovation.
Breen will report to Stephen Gatfield, EVP, Strategy and Network Operations, and Philippe Krakowsky, EVP, Strategy and Corporate Relations. His new role includes the identification and management of investments in emerging media and communications areas, such as those entered by Interpublic in 2006 with social-networking site Facebook and automated local advertising and media buying service Spot Runner.
He previously ran his own strategic marketing and communications consultancy, Bant Breen LLC, which was affiliated with Dentsu Inc. Prior to this, he worked for five years at Leo Burnett Worldwide in roles including Regional MD of iLeo (now Arc Worldwide) as well as Digital and Integrated Communications Director for Leo Burnett EMEA.
