Canadian-based public opinion and market research firm Angus Reid Strategies has hired Jeff Vidler as Senior Vice President & Managing Director of its Radio Research division, to develop new market research strategies for radio stations.Vidler joins with more than 20 years' senior-level research and consulting experience, including six years as Vice President of Media Research with the Angus Reid Group (now Ipsos-Reid). During his career, he has pioneered the use of online research panels to conduct radio perceptual studies using a representative sample of listeners in each market.
Vidler is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in the US and Canada and a regular contributor to Broadcast Dialogue Magazine. Working out of the firm's Toronto office, his new role involves helping radio stations to achieve an understanding of how listeners are using the medium and how they are choosing individual station brands.
'By hooking Jeff's radio and research expertise up to the online tools and technology we've developed, we'll be creating a new generation of research products and services for the broadcast industry,' explained President and CEO Angus Reid.
