Semrush Invests in Insights Firm MFour

July 23 2024

In California, online visibility management platform Semrush has made an unspecified strategic investment in mobile survey and in-the-moment data collection firm MFour Mobile Research.

Semrush Invests in MFour Mobile ResearchSemrush helps companies measure, manage and optimise their online visibility via an SaaS platform covering SEO, pay-per-click, content, social media and competitive research campaigns. The firm reported Q1 revenue up 21% to $85.8m, and has more than a thousand staff spread across offices in four US cities and in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belgrade, Berlin, Limassol, Prague, Warsaw and Yerevan. In March 2022 it acquired Austin, TX-based competitive intelligence automation specialist Kompyte, and yesterday it announced it was buying Munich, Germany-based web site UX platform Ryte, for an undisclosed sum.

MFour operates a proprietary mobile insights app, Surveys On The Go, alongside advanced location-based technologies. Its SaaS products are unified under the MFour Studio brand, now enhanced with Journeys Marketplace, a solution adding massive amounts of consumer behavior data for instant analysis; and new AI tools DANI and Survey Builder, which allow anyone to conduct, analyze and implement market research 'like an expert'.

Semrush President Eugene Levin says of the investment: 'As we continue to help businesses of all sizes enhance their digital marketing operations, we know how important it is for them to better understand who they are marketing and selling to. MFour provides trusted consumer behaviors, insights, and opinions on today's omnichannel consumer and their buyer journeys, so we're excited to deepen our relationship with them to better serve our customers'.

Chris St. Hilaire, Chief Exec of MFour, comments: 'Our relationship with Semrush has always been strong, and we firmly believe that they are the best-positioned company to partner with as we continue providing validated consumers in a market research world plagued with fraud and data quality issues'.
