New Owner and Investor for RepTrak

November 19 2024

In the US, reputation intelligence specialist the RepTrak Company has sold a majority stake to Chicago-based private equity firm Periscope Equity.

Mark SondersRepTrak's predictive insights help subscribers to safeguard business value, optimize ROI and promote their social initiatives. Established in 2004, the firm combines advanced metrics solutions with dedicated reputation advisors, and owns the 'world's largest' reputation benchmarking database, adding more than a million company ratings each year.

The company says the Periscope acquisition - and the operational and commercial support that come with it - will help it strengthen its competitive market position and accelerate its growth trajectory. Among its more specific plans, the firm says it will expand its data visualization offering to enrich user experience in-platform; strengthen relationships with partners and clients; broaden its core offerings to resonate with a wider executive audience; build in more AI; and scale tech-enabled, multi-country programs for greater impact.

CEO Mark Sonders (pictured) says the move is 'an exciting milestone' for the company, adding: 'This investment strengthens our leadership position in the industry, empowering us to drive greater impact and deliver unmatched value within the marketplace'.

RepTrak was advised exclusively in the transaction by NYC-based BrightTower, an investment banking and M&A advisory services firm with deep experience in the sector from deals including InMoment's sale of its New Vehicle Customer Study to Ipsos and EpiAnalytics to JD Power; and the sales of Technomic, a division of Winsight, to Informa and NPI to Falfurrias Capital.

Formerly known as The Reputation Institute, the company is online at www.reptrak.com .
