ANZ to Offer De-Identified Customer Data for Insights

December 2 2024

Australian bank ANZ has announced a partnership with DataCo, a business launched through its external innovation and investment partner 1835i, which will anonymise and aggregate the bank's customer and transactional data for analysis by clients on DataCo's collaboration platform.

Danny Tyrrell1835i partners with and invests in new and existing companies, developing solutions to attract and retain ANZ customers and build new capabilities for ANZ, such as its Cashrewards partner program.

DataCo's core technology has been built in collaboration with ANZ and 1835i, and combines data from multiple sources into a safeguarded and de-identified dataset on DataCo's platform. The aggregation of this data offers users the ability to perform targeted analysis, uncover spending trends and identify growth opportunities.

DataCo co-founder, Chief Operating and Product Officer Danny Tyrrell (pictured) says the partnership is 'the result of several years of collaboration with ANZ' while building and launching the DataCo Platform. He adds: 'Embedding ANZ Transaction Banking insights into our secure data collaboration technology provides our clients with actionable insights, while ensuring we respect and protect people's data, in a privacy-first world'. Co-founder and Chief Customer Officer Michael Bridgeman adds: 'We've already seen how anonymised transaction data can bring huge value to our pilot partners, and we're looking forward to offering these insights to more businesses, particularly in the retail and consumer goods space. By doing this, we aim to contribute to the growth of a strong and healthy Australian economy'.
